Easy way to get a charming mermaid on a lake. Using "Clone Stamp tool" to complete the look.
On this occasion I want to show you how easy it can be to obtain a charming mermaid from one of your photographs when the mermaid tail is already included in the digital background.
At the same time I'm going to show you how useful Photoshop's "Clone Stamp" tool can be if you want to get your mermaid to have a matching top with her tail!
The icon of this cloning tool is this:
How to use the clone tool?
With the Clone Stamp tool selected, position the cursor over the area you want to clone and then click Alt (Windows) to define the clone source. Position the cursor over the area where you want to paint the cloned pixels and then start painting.
This video is mainly focused on showing the "clone" tool, so the whole procedure to include the model in the background has not been shown. There are other videos on the blog that show these techniques that may interest you:
- How to cut out a subject from a background. You can see it in this publication: How to Cut Out a Subject from a Backgrund in Photoshop
- How to hide part of the model using layer mask. You can see how to make this in this video (the technique to hide part of the subject is the same): Nostalgic Ride video tutorial
- Basic adjustments of light and color. You can see it here: Basic adjustments blending subject and digital background
The digital background used is available here:
Also available without the mermaid tail.
You will love it!
